The benchmark NZX50 index has fallen 5 points, or 0.1%, to close at 4026 on turnover of $115 million on Tuesday.
When the markets closed, the NZ dollar was at 83.46 US, 79.69 Australian, 51.90 pence, 68.72 yen and 0.6452 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 74.68.
Shares in Chorus were up 1 cent at $2.74, Ebos Group shares fell 2 cents to $8.48, shares in Fletcher Building were down 4 cents to $8.29.
Hallenstein Glasson shares were up 2 cents at $5.07, Kathmandu was up 3 cents to $1.89, NZ Refinery was up 3 cents at $2.63.
Shares in New Zealand Oil & Gas were unchanged at 87 cents, despite news the company has been awarded two further permits in the Taranaki basin.
Pumpkin Patch was up 2 cents to $1.32, SkyCity Entertainment was down 2 cents to $3.65, Sky Network Television was down 28 cents to $4.87.
Trade Me was down 4 cents to $4.17 and shares in the Warehouse were down 7 cents to $3.03 following Monday's announcement that it was acquiring the Noel Leeming chain.
