Retail electricity sales for Contact Energy fell 4% to 660 gigawatt hours in November compared with the same period a year ago.
The company said South Island hydro lake levels are 108% of the average, with the average wholesale price at $69 per megawatt hour.
Electricity customer numbers edged up to 443,000.
