Gina Rinehart again topped the annual Forbes Australian rich list - with a fortune of $A16 billion.
However, Radio New Zealand's Sydney correspondent says she's almost $A1 billion less wealthy than a year ago, due to falling iron ore prices.
The rest of the list is dominated by miners, although casino operator James Packer is still doing fairly well. His net worth rose $A1.5 billion to $A5.8 billion last year.
Vanishing from the list is self-made mining wonderboy Nathan Tinkler. Having made 26th position last year, Tinkler is now fighting a range of creditors, who claim he owes them about $A700 million.
All in all, there were 23 billionaires in Australia last year, up three from a year before.
