Snakk Media has 'record-breaking' third quarter

Newly listed Snakk Media says it had a record-breaking third quarter for revenue because of investment in its sales team in Australia.

The tech company's revenue more than doubled to $1.4 million in the three months to December, compared with about $700,000 for the same period a year ago.

Snakk Media, which only operates in Australia, specialises in helping clients advertise on smartphones.

It listed on the alternative stock market in February and its shares more than doubled their opening price of 12c on their first day of trading. On Monday they were trading at 16c.

Chairman and co-founder Derek Handley says the Australian market is very young and growing exponentially.

"We've also been investing in a sales team and expanding that team and ... extending our reach and our capacity to generate new revenue."
