Manufacturing activity dipped a little in June compared with May but was still at its strongest level for a June month since June 2004.
The Bank of New Zealand/BusinessNZ performance of manufacturing index fell 4.3 points from May to 54.7.
A reading above 50 indicates expansion and the May result was the highest recorded since June 2004.
BNZ economist Craig Ebert said the May result probably over-stated the strength of manufacturing but, taken together, both month's readings indicate solid growth.
