The stock exchange says the Government-controlled Mighty River Power will join the benchmark NZX 50 index.
NZX says changes to the index are determined solely by its index methodology and do not reflect an opinion on any listed company.
Mighty River Power meets the ranking and liquidity requirements to be included in the top 50, it says, and will replace Australia-based phone company Telstra Corporation from 22 July.
