This year's NBR rich list has reached a record high, with the total net worth of entrants climbing to $60.4 billion.

Packaging tycoon Graeme Hart topped the list with a value of $6.4 billion, followed by Richard Chandler and the Todd family.

National Business Review editor in chief Nevil Gibson told Radio New Zealand's Checkpoint programme on Thursday it was a good year for investors with the sharemarket going up in double figures.

Mr Gibson said there were 12 newcomers to the rich list, including the property developers and brothel owners the Chow brothers.

The top 10 on the list for 2013 are: Graeme Hart; Richard Chandler; the Todd family; the Erceg family; Christopher Chandler; the Goodman family; Michael Friedlander; Sir Owen Glen; Stephen Jennings and Sir Douglas Myers.
