Big box stores to trial a 'click madness' sale

7:18 am on 12 November 2013

The Warehouse Group will run an experimental single online sales day across all of its brands on Tuesday.

Click Madness borrows the concept from the US and Cyber Monday, the Monday after Thanksgiving when US retailers hold a day of massive online discounting.

It's reported to be the largest single day of online trading in that country.

A New Zealand version of the event, Click Monday, will be staged later this month by a number of high profile retailers, such as some of the Hallenstein Glasson brands and Briscoes.

But the Warehouse Group's chief executive, Mark Powell, says his company is staging its own experiment earlier.
