Air NZ resumes Singapore alliance

4:25 pm on 16 January 2014

Air New Zealand will resume flying into Singapore for the first time in more than eight years as part of a new alliance with Singapore Airlines.

Under the alliance, Air New Zealand will launch a daily service between Auckland and Singapore, replacing an existing five-day-a-week service currently provided by Singapore Airlines.

Singapore Airlines will operate a daily service between the two cities, progressively replacing smaller aircraft with the Airbus A380 craft.

Before Air New Zealand cut its previous services to Singapore in October 2006, it had been losing tens of millions of dollars on the route.
