Spotless to raise capital

2:23 pm on 29 April 2014

Spotless Group is planning to raise $A1 billion dollars from a share float.

The company is owned by the private equity firm Pacific Equity Partners and Spotless management.

Just over half the shares will be sold for between $A1.60 and $1.85 each.

The current owners, who delisted the company from the NZX in 2012, will continue to own 49 per cent.

Spotless expanded into New Zealand in the 1970s through laundry business purchases and employs almost 33,000 people.

The company said the share sale will allow it to repay debt, create a liquid market in the company's shares and permit existing investors to realise part of their investment.

The bookbuild to determine the final price is scheduled to take place on 20 and 21 May and the shares will begin trading on 23 May.
