The NZX 50 index was up 21 points to 3324 at midday on Monday, on turnover of $23 million.
Fletcher Building was up 14 cents to $6.40, while Telecom rose 11 cents to $3.78.
Methven was up 5 cents to $1.60, and Pumpkin Patch 5 cents to $1.50.
In currency markets, the dollar was trading at 72.73 US cents, 78.17 Australian cents, 36.81 pence, 78.15 yen, and 0.4668 euro. The Trade Weighted Index stands at 65.42.
