The Woolworths supermarket group has taken the first step towards appealing a decision preventing it from buying The Warehouse.
It filed notice on Friday, of an application to the Supreme Court for leave to appeal a judgement by the Court of Appeal.
In July, the Court of Appeal overturned an earlier High Court decision clearing the way for Woolworths and Foodstuffs to make a takeover bid for the discount retailer.
Shares in The Warehouse closed down 4c to $3.45 on the NZX50 on Friday.
