Fisher & Paykel Appliances says cost savings at a new manufacturing plant in Thailand are ahead of budget.
The whiteware maker says annual laundry production from the new plant, which started production in March this year, is planned to reach 320,000 units by next year.
The factory is located in the duty free zone of the Amata City industrial
estate.
The site will add an electronics manufacturing facility soon. A refrigeration and DishDrawer factory is planned to be completed by the middle of 2009.
