NZ newspapers continue to lose readers

A survey of New Zealand's major newspapers shows a general decline in print readership.

The Roy Morgan Readership results for 2015 indicate an 11 percent decline in the Monday to Saturday readership of the New Zealand Herald and The Press, while the Dominion Post fell 4.5 percent and the Otago Daily Times fell 8 percent in 2015.

The Waikato Times saw the biggest decline among the dailies - down more than 15 percent.

The Sunday News' readership plummeted 37 percent to just 77,000 readers per issue.

Some of the smaller regional papers gained readers, including the Hawke's Bay Today, Timaru Herald and Wanganui Chronicle.
