NZX appoints Mark Peterson as chief executive

The NZX has appointed Mark Peterson as its new chief executive.

He has been acting chief executive since the start of the year after the departure of the previous company head Tim Bennett.

"In addition to his extensive markets experience, Mark has been instrumental in transforming staff engagement, with his clear communication skills and collaborative leadership style," NZX chairman James Miller said.

Mr Peterson has been with NZX since 2015 as its head of markets, and before that he worked in the financial services sector including for the ANZ Bank and investment bank FNZC.
