ANZ today announced the current chair John Judge will be retiring from its board in January.

Mr Judge has been on the board since 2008 and chair since June 2012.

ANZ Group Chair David Gonski said Mr Judge's tenure was one of significant change for the business.

"Sir John Key's strong international career in banking and his understanding of and contacts across the Asia-Pacific - where many Australian and New Zealand companies are increasingly trading - will add great value to the governance of ANZ," he said.
