Key confident after South Korean talks

Prime Minister John Key says he's confident his visit to South Korea has helped to restart negotiations towards a free-trade deal with Seoul.

On a 10-day trip that also includes visits to China and Vietnam, Mr Key is currently in South Korea, and a free-trade agreement was at the top of the agenda when he met Prime Minister Chung Un-chan.

Negotiations for the deal began last year but have largely stalled because of Korean fears over New Zealand's agricultural sector.

Mr Key says that the meeting was productive and that he addressed South Korea's concerns about agriculture.

In Beijing, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet Premier Wen Jiabao and Vice-President Xi Jinping, who recently visited New Zealand.

Mr Key will also host New Zealand's national day at the World Expo in Shanghai on Friday.

He's due back in New Zealand on 13 July.
