Barclays is cutting more jobs in its retail and commercial banking businesses in Britain.

It announced cuts totalling 2100 on Tuesday and said on Wednesday another 2100 jobs will go. Cuts to another 400 jobs in its technology departments were announced last week.

Barclays confirmed it is shedding jobs, but said consultation with staff had not yet been completed.

Barclays employs about 156,000 staff, including almost 70,000 in Britain.
