A hugely successful response to an advertising campaign has ironically resulted in Abano Healthcare cutting its full-year profit forecast.
The healthcare operator has downgraded its profit forecast from between $10 million and $11 million to between $9 million and $9.7 million for the year to March. That would still be at least 17% ahead of last year's result.
Abano managing director Alan Clarke said the uptake of free hearings tests at its Bay audiology centres offered in the advertising campaign is the primary reason for the downgrade.
However he said the company will reap the benefits in the next financial year, and record numbers are now being seen by the clinics.
