Infratil says the Government's plan to merge Auckland's councils into one super city is of great interest.
The company says the changes should result in the council's roles being undertaken more effectively and efficiently, but the details of the organisation structures are still to be determined.
Infratil owns NZ Bus, which operates public transport services in Auckland. It recently sold three bus depots bringing its total divestments to $127 million.
