Nintendo Co. has reported record profits for the year to March.
It says the video game industry is proving to be relatively recession-proof.
Annual net profit rose 8.5% to Y279.09 billion ($A3.79 billion), helped by sales of its Wii and DS consoles.
Operating profit increased 14% to Y555.26 billion ($A7.54 billion) in the year to March.
Revenue climbed 9.9% to a record Y1.84 trillion ($A24.98 billion).
Nintendo has sold 50.39 million Wii consoles worldwide since their launch in 2006, including 25.95 million in the year to March.
