Telecom reveals more about XT network services

8:20 pm on 20 May 2009

Telecom has revealed more detail about the services it will offer on its new XT mobile network, saying it will reduce the number of plans from 60 to just 14.

The company says it will no longer charge different rates for peak and off-peak mobile calls.

It will offer nine exclusive mobile phone handsets when it launches the network at the end of this month, which will not include the iPhone.

Telecom chief executive Paul Reynolds says the company is confident its plans and pricing will attract more customers.

He says Telecom wants to claw back about 10% of the mobile market, and is poised to compete aggressively.
