Job advertisements in Australia fell nationally by almost 52% in the past 12 months, according to the latest figures.

The Olivier Job Index survey of 190,000 job ads showed a drop of 4.32% in May.

However, the ABC reported that the decline was less than than in previous months. New South Wales recorded the biggest drop.

Ads for full-time positions were down, but there was a rise in ads for part-time and temporary work.
