Confidence still down - survey

The BNZ's monthly confidence survey shows fewer respondents expect the economy to improve over the coming year.

Overall, 18% say they expect the recession to ease, compared with 26% in May.

BNZ says comments across most sectors indicate current conditions still remain very tough, with the rising New Zealand dollar and falling dairy prices causing more concern among exporters.
