An Auckland company has been fined $5000 and ordered to pay $2500 in costs, for false advertising.

Eden Office Seating pleaded guilty in Auckland District Court to three charges of falsely claiming in advertising brochures that two models of office chairs were made in New Zealand.

The charges were brought by the Commerce Commission which says the chairs were designed and assembled in New Zealand, but most of the components were sourced from overseas.
