The Inland Revenue Department has for the first time divulged the areas of the economy it plans to crack down on this year as it seeks to increase a dwindling tax take.
Online traders, tax agents and farming contractors are among those it will be taking a close look at.
The department lays out compliance questions for each group and shows how it will tackle them.
As the economic crisis continues, Inland Revenue says it wants to work with firms early on to identify difficulties they may be having paying tax.
Commissioner Bob Russell says it will be helpful for companies to know the department's priorities.
Mr Russell says its responsibility is to try to encourage the greatest degree of compliance.
