Briscoe Group is on track to double its half year profit.
The sporting and homeware goods retailer expects to make $6 million in the six months to the end of July, compared with $3 million the same period last year.
Group sales increased by 1.8% in the half year, to $185 million.
Managing director Rod Duke says the expected profit increase is more about improving margins by having the right stock on its shelves, and has restructured its store management.
