NZ market sheds 2% at start of trading week

The New Zealand share market fell 65 points, or 2.1%, on Monday to close at 3086 on turnover of $52 million.

Top stocks were mainly lower. Telecom was down 3 cents to $2.72, Fletcher Building fell 34c to $7.64, while Contact Energy lost 6 to $6.29.

Fisher & Paykel Appliances was down 5c to $5.50, while Fisher & Paykel Healthcare fell 9c to $3.30.

Freightways fell 30c cents to $3.10 after reporting a 7% rise in full year profit, boosted by a one-off property sale.
