Australasian casino operator Sky City Entertainment Group has recorded a profit of $115.3 million - more than double its result for the previous year.
The company's profit for the 12-month period to June rose dramatically compared with the previous period, when its profit was just under $50 million because of write-downs in the value of its cinema chain.
The company says revenue rose 5% at its flagship Auckland casino because it made more money from its table games, offsetting a decline in gaming machines.
The company says it also contained costs and reduced debt.
