The NZX 50 index rose 33 points, or 1.1%, to close at 3068 on turnover of $85 million on Monday.
Top stocks gained. Telecom was up 8c to $2.72, Fletcher Building rose 3c at $7.77, while Contact Energy was 5c higher at $6.25.
Sky City Entertainment Group was up 2c to $3.26.
Tower fell 7c at $1.74 after saying it wants raise $81.3 million from shareholders.
