Tauranga shower company exports domes

A company that makes acrylic domes which attach to showers to stop steam and moisture fogging up the bathroom is now exporting the product.

Showerdome has a team of four and manufactures the domes at its base in Tauranga.

More than 18,000 domes have been sold in New Zealand and it's now exporting thousands of them.

Chief executive Maurice O'Reilley says capital is the company's principal restraint.

The first were sent to Australia - where the culture is very similar to New Zealand.

Others have been sold in Ireland and Mr O'Reilley says discussions have been held in parts of Europe also.
