NZ, Australian indexes both slip .3%

The NZX 50 index closed down 10 points, or .3%, to 3,138 on Monday, on turnover of $55 million.

Telecom was down 2c at $2.61, Fletcher Building down 5c at $8.33 and Contact Energy down 6c at $5.80.

Mainfreight fell to 7c to $5.25, while the Warehouse rose 5c to $4.25.

In currency markets the dollar was trading at 72.04 US cents, 82.49 Australian, 45.07 pence, 64.71 Yen, and .4923 euro. The TWI stood at 65.56.

Across the Tasman, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 15 points, or 0.33%, at 4586.7 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index shed 13.8 points, or 0.3%, to 4592.3.
