The New Zealand sharemarket has risen, with the benchmark NZX 50 index up 11 points, or 0.4%, to 31.73 on turnover of $28 million, after a positive result on Wall Street.
Fletcher Building rose 13 cents to $8.08, Telecom 1 cent to $2.55, Sky City Entertainment Group 1 cent to $3.38, Sky Network Television 1 cent to $4.93 and Air New Zealand 3 cents to $1.29.
Rakon was flat at $1.17 after posting a $6.2 million half year loss.
Contact Energy was down 2 cents to $6.09, Steel and Tube Holdings 15 cents to $2.95.
Cavalier Corporation rose 8 cents to $2.53.
The NZ dollar was trading at 74.05 US cents, 79.27 Australian, 44.65 pence, 66.50 yen and 0. 4940 euro shortly after 5pm. The TWI was 65.88.
The Australian S&P/ASX200 closed down 9.1 points, or 0.19%, at 4747.9.
