Navman Wireless is aiming to nearly triple the number of vehicles with its tracking equipment globally.

The technology company was part of the Peter Maire's global positioning system firm, and was bought by senior management with the backing of US private equity firm Prairie Capital in 2007.

Navman Wireless vice president of Asia Pacific and Latin America Ian Daniel says the recession has been good for for it, as clients look to trim costs and save money.

Navman's turnover is more than $100 million per year. It operates in 15 countries and tracks over 100,000 vehicles for more than 7000 clients.
