Quarterly profit up for Siemens

Siemens has reported a jump in quarterly profit, mainly due to cutting costs.

The German engineering company made $US2.2 billion in the three months to December, an increase of 24 percent on the same period a year earlier.

But the BBC reports revenue fell and Siemens warns that demand remains fickle.
