The New Zealand stock exchange says the volume of trading rose in January, but the value has fallen.
NZX says total share trading rose 14% to 36,139 during the month, but lower share prices meant the value fell 3% to $1.45 billion.
About $25 million has been raised.
Market capitalisation was $54 billion, or 29% of gross domestic product.
