Revenues at News Corporation rose 10% to $US8.7 billion in the second quarter.
News Corp made a profit of $US254 million in the last three months of the year, compared to loss of $US6.4 billion in the same period a year ago.
The company says it experienced double-digit growth in most of its businesses, but it was hit with a one-off charge of $US500 million to settle a dispute lodged against one of its marketing companies.
News Corp's film division saw its earnings almost triple to $US324 million due to a string of box-office hits including Avatar.
