NZ market higher at close

The New Zealand share market was up 5 points, or 0.1%, to 3107 at the close of trade on Friday.

Fletcher Building was down 8 cents to $7.92 per share, after announcing a half-year profit of $154 million, Contact Energy was up 5c to $5.70 and Telecom was unchanged at $2.33.

Auckland International Airport rose 4c to $1.80, while Air New Zealand was down 3c to $1.29.

Sky City Entertainment was unchanged at $3.17 after posting a 30% rise in after-tax half-year profit earlier this week.

Michael Hill International was unchanged at 69c, after announcing an improved underlying profit.

Mainfreight rose 1c to $5.91, despite announcing profit has fallen nearly 8% in the first nine months of this financial year.

Sky Television Network gained 9c to $4.80 after announcing a $50 million profit in the six months to December, an increase of a fifth on the same period a year earlier.
