NZ market closes higher

The benchmark NZX 50 index closed up 6 points (0.18%) to 3231 on turnover of $51 million on Monday.

Fletcher Building was up 3 cents to $8.18, Telecom down 2 cents to $2.21, and Contact Energy up 4 cents to $6.12.

Sky City Entertainment Group rose 8 cents to $3.28, and Sky Network Television 2 cents to $5.10.

The Warehouse was up 4 cents to $3.99 after reporting a flat underlying half year profit of $57 million on Friday.

Scott Technology was up 4 cents to $1.32, TeamTalk rose 4 cents to $2.25 but Freightways was down 3 cents to $3.03.

Delegats Group fell 6 cents to $1.90, while Allied Farmers was unchanged at 7.1 cents.

Across the Tasman, the ASX 200 index was down 25 points (0.5%), to 4792.

In currency markets, the NZ dollar was at 70.1 US cents, 76.81 Australian, 46.28 British pence, 63.6 yen and 0.5107 euro. The TWI was at 64.7
