Telecom has appointed Kieren Cooney as the new director of its mobile division.
Mr Cooney replaces Paul Hamburger, who resigned in March after the repeated failures of the company's XT mobile network, and will step down when his contract finishes in July.
Mr Cooney is the chief executive of Telecom's retail dealer partner, Leading Edge, and has held key senior roles at Vodafone New Zealand where he led the launch of the company's 3G network.
Shares in Telecom were up 4 cents to $2.24 at the close of trade on Wednesday.
