The New Zealand share market closed on a slightly higher note on Tuesday, the benchmark NZX50 index up 11 points, or 0.3%, to 3293 on turnover of $54 million.
Fletcher Building was up 7 cents to $8.49, Telecom was down 2c to $2.15 and Contact Energy was down 1c to $6.35.
Air New Zealand was up 1c to $1.38 and Auckland International Airport was up 3c to $2.03.
Nuplex was up 10c to $3.22 after announcing a capital-raising bid.
New Zealand Oil & Gas was up 3c to $1.54, Sky City Entertainment was up 1c to $3.21, Sky Network Television was up 1c to $5.05
and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was up 1c to $3.42.
Pike River Coal was up 2c to $1.10 after announcing a $50 million capital raising. Allied Farmers was up 0.03c, or 5%, to 6c.
Across the Tasman, the ASX 200 index was up 20 points, or 0.4%, to 4936.
The dollar was trading at 70.98 US cents, 76.49 Australian cents, 46.34 pence, 65.75 yen and 0.5267 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was 65.75.
