The New Zealand sharemarket was 12 points higher, or 0.3%, to close at 3305 on Wednesday on heavy turnover of $100 million.
Fletcher Building was up 3 cents to $8.52 per share, Contact Energy fell 11c to $6.24 and Telecom was unchanged at $2.15.
Air New Zealand was unchanged at $1.38. Nuplex was up 1c to $3.23.
New Zealand Oil and Gas gained 2c to $1.56, while Pike River Coal climbed 4c to $1.14 after announcing details of its $90 million capital raising to repay a lender and speed up production.
Sky City Entertainment Group gained 1c to $3.22.
