The New Zealand dollar reached a two-year high against the euro on Friday.

At 10.45am, the dollar was buying 53.5 cents - its highest point against the euro since February 2008.

The euro lost ground against most currencies on Thursday after Moody's downgraded Greece's credit rating.

The euro fell to an 11-month low against the US dollar amid fears about the future of the monetary zone, which covers 16-countries.
