Airbus has landed a record $US11 billion order for its superjumbo A380 from Dubai's Emirates.
In a display of confidence in the future of the industry, Emirates will take delivery of 32 A380s by 2017.
It's understood Emirates may have received a discount of 40% of the retail price.
The order will take its fleet of superjumbos to 90, about 70 more than the next biggest A380 purchaser, Qantas.
