The managing director of supermarket giant Foodstuffs has been appointed an independent director on the board of Fletcher Building.
Tony Carter's appointment takes effect from the the beginning of September.
The company says Mr Carter brings to the board extensive experience in distribution and retailing, as well as his broader knowledge of the New Zealand business environment.
Sir Dryden Spring will step down as a director at the end of October, after 11 years on the board of Fletcher Building and, before that, Fletcher Challenge.
