Market ends the week up a point

The benchmark NZX50 gained just one point on Friday to close the week at 3047 on turnover of $25 million.

Fletcher Building was down 7c to $8.14, Telecom up 3c to $1.89 and Contact Energy unchanged at $5.77.

Auckland Airport gained 3c to $1.93 and Air New Zealand 2c to $1.17.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was down 2c at $3.17, while Fisher & Paykel Appliances was unchanged at 59c.

Sky City Entertainment Group dropped a cent to close at $2.84, while Sky TV gained 3c to $4.98.

NZ Oil & Gas was unchanged at $1.33 and the Warehouse shed 2c to $3.58.

On currency markets, the NZ dollar was buying 70.45 US, 80.99 Australian, 47.53 pence, 63.96 yen and .5680 euro. The TWI stood at 67.68.

Across the Tasman, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index rose 24.6 points, or 0.54%, to 4551.9, while the broader All Ordinaries gained 27.1 points, or 0.6%, to reach 4574.1.
