ASL investors want Hubbard back in charge

9:58 am on 20 August 2010

About 50 investors in Aorangi Securities Ltd want directors Allan and Margaret Hubbard back in control of the business.

The company and seven charities managed by Mr and Mrs Hubbard were placed under statutory management on 20 June, because of concerns about the way ASL was being run.

But ASL investor Tony Brazier says many investors do not like the way the issue is being handled, and some are struggling to pay bills without their interest payments.

He says they plan to write to Commerce Minister Simon Power asking for the statutory management order to be terminated.

Mr Brazier says they want Mr Hubbard back in control, with someone from the Government helping to fix any issues.

He told Morning Report the situation must be brought to a head.
