New Zealand market up 35 points

The New Zealand share market finished up on Monday, with the benchmark NZX50 index gaining 35 points to close at 3143 on turnover of $102 million.

Fletcher Building was up 39 cents to $8.14, Telecom was up 4c to $2.09, Contact Energy was down 1c to $5.65, Sky City Entertainment was up 2c at $2.95 and Sky Network Television was up 2c to $5.10.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was up 2c to $3.04, Vector was down 1c to $2.07, Mainfreight was unchanged at $6.80 and Allied Farmers was up 0.4c to 2.8c after its trustee wrote to the Companies Office citing concerns about the company's financial health.

The dollar was buying 72.20 US cents, 78.76 Australian cents, 46.68 pence, 60.90 yen and 0.5599 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was 66.93.

Across the Tasman, the Australian 200 index was up 22 points to 4563.
