NZ sharemarket slips

The New Zealand sharemarket's benchmark NZX50 index fell 10 points to 3201 during Monday morning trading, on turnover of $36 million.

As at 12:10pm, Fletcher Building was up 1 cent to $8.48, Contact Energy was unchanged at $5.75 and Telecom was down 1 cent at $2.05.

Fisher and Paykel Appliances was up 1 cents to 61 cents and Fisher and Paykel Healthcare was unchanged at $3.01.

Air New Zealand was unchanged at $1.29.

Tower unchanged was unchanged at $1.83.

Sky City Entertainment was down 2 cents at $2.87, and Sky Network Television was up 2 cents to $5.17.

New Zealand Oil and Gas was down 2 cents to $1.29.

The Warehouse was up 4 cents to $3.84.

Pike River Coal was down 5 cents to $1.06, after saying it needs more short term funding to keep up its pace of mine development.

In currency markets, the NZ dollar was trading at 72.65 US, 77.47 Australian, 46.45 pence, 62.30 yen and 0.5570 euro. The TWI stood at 66.90.
