Baycorp says businesses in New Zealand have learned valuable lessons from the credit crisis and are now better managing credit.
The debt collection agency says businesses are credit checking more customers and not granting credit where previously they might have.
Baycorp says its figures show businesses are getting back on track and debt levels are trending down.
However, consumer debt is up slightly, albeit at a slower rate than in previous years.
